DEMO MEMBER STORY
A Cassette from My Brother
Prototype story: original demo writing for the new community. It is not presented as a real member’s memory.
How a handwritten tape labelled “Start with side B” became a lifelong route into U2.
The handwriting was my brother’s, all block capitals and crossed-out track numbers. Side B began with “Running to Stand Still,” which was a strange way to introduce a teenager to U2 and exactly the right way for me.
The tape wore thin. The songs did not. Years later I found the same running order in an old drawer and realised he had made an argument, not a compilation.
