European Cup winner and former Aston Villa and Manchester United goalkeeper Jimmy Rimmer has died at the age of 78.
The Southport-born goalkeeper was on the bench when United beat Benfica to win the 1968 European Cup.
Rimmer started Villa's 1-0 win over Bayern Munich in the 1982 European Cup final, though he was replaced by Nigel Spink after nine minutes because of a neck injury.
He started every game of Villa's run to the final, as he did in their league title-winning campaign of 1980-81.
Rimmer made 229 league appearances for the Midlands club, and also spent time with Swansea City and Arsenal. He won the latter's player of the season award in 1974-75.
Rimmer earned one England cap in a friendly against Italy in 1976.

If I were a betting man, I would put my money very much against that.
The IRA were much more careful and organised. This strikes me as the work of a lone nutter.
There's also the fact that the IRA are on a permanent and irrevocable ceasefire, which, if you knew anything about Britain and Ireland, you would already have known.
The total ignorance of some US U2 fans about British and Irish affairs, and lack of curiosity about affairs in the country from which the band they claim to be fans of, never ceases to amaze me. Ok, if U2 were Ireland's answer to Bon Jovi or Pearl Jam or other such dull-as-dishwater apolitical drone bands, it would be kind of understandable, but, really and truly.
I can only imagine it is due to inhaling too many fumes from the hamburger gases that you have over there.

A 28-year-old white British man from Rotherham, South Yorkshire, originally arrested on suspicion of murder on Saturday, has now been re-arrested on suspicion of commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism

Lindsey Graham has just died from what appears to be a fatal heart attack at his residence a few hours after returning from Ukraine on July 11, 2026. There is no evidence yet that says this, but it is possible for a person to be murdered with a delayed nerve agent or cardiotoxin that mimics a heart attack. The Russian FSB are experts in this form of assassination.

TPB was one of those shows you either loved or hated. When I was younger my buddies and I would bust a gut laughing at Lahey & Randy vs Julian, Ricky, and Bubbles. The first 6 seasons were great if you enjoy low brow college guys type humor. If you didn't enjoy that type of humor you'd probably think TPB was the worst show ever.
