The Mental Health Support Thread
Hope this is an ok idea. We used to have such a thread on @atu2, but it seemed to have been culled off (rather unfairly)
Quote from: Smee on July 08, 2026, 07:17:38 AM I have noticed a DISTINCT change in the patterns of my depressive episodes this year.
Im still feeling great, most of the time. But these episodes are coming more frequently, lasting days, and totally zapping me of energy.
Before, it was a matter of sitting tight for a day and let the low moods do their thing. Usually, just a trip to bed and a sleep would sort me out for the next day. Not now tho. Things have got worse in some respects. BUT, as i say, i since my Autism Spectrum Diagnosis 6 years ago, I pretty much been doing the best i have done, in my adult life.
Looks like, with experience, you learned how to deal with all this. Keep it up.

For myself, I'm a bit nervous. My mom can't live by herself anymore and I'm moving her into my apartment. It'll be a big change. I'm currently moving her out of her house
I am nervous about getting along. I want to maintain a good relationship. I value my autonomy and want to continue to feel like my apartment is my home.
Well, anyway, here's hoping. My new life starts May 28.
I hope things are panning out well for you and your Mum. It is a massive thing you are doing to help her. So tons and tons of Kudos to you for that.

I was able to put together the pieces that explain my mother's attitude towards me. It's hard to believe I put her on a pedestal for 52 years before I was able see her as who she is. Not a bad person, she did her best. But she definitely has issues of her own (and clearly don't want to know/hear about them).
It's like a 10 ton weight was lifted off my shoulders.
Hope this breakthrough leads to better days ahead
I hope it helps me get past her judgement and comments. Take a real perspective and not feel personally attacked. That would really help.

Happy for you, mate.
