I’m really done with stadiums. I hope we can hear the album before tickets go on sale so that I can see if it’s worth bothering at all.

Only the color concert leaked. Tempe. I wonder which one of the black & white concerts got done. Maybe NYC since they already remastered the audio.
Anyway this is huge news. The color footage was amazing.

Now that it’s ready, they can release it whenever they see fit. Maybe they will target 1988-> 2028 and a proper R&show re-master, rather than another iteration of JT.

I’ve been saying this since the Apple show. I was stunned because his voice has been so thin for a decade. I initially thought it was special audio effects so I looked up some bootlegged YouTube videos from the book tour and it was real. Stunning transformation. Falsetto on Sunday Bloody Sunday was incredible. High register on Torna a Surriento was for the ages. He’s been doing vo2max exercises and stopped smoking I’m guessing

Also, it's been the least busy period for U2. They haven't been touring for ages and The Sphere shows had space in between for his voice to recover. His voice certainly took the toll for constant touring for so many years, including the lifestyle that goes with it. I mean, it's notorious that Celine Dion barely talks in between shows to rest her voice. Bono can't shut up.

Quote from: Amor fati on June 05, 2026, 08:41:02 PM BONO and TRUMP to Co-headline America's 250th Celebration Concert this month
U2's Bono and current and former President Donald J Trump to Co-headline America's 250th Celebration Concert according to sources.
President Trump is expected to speak to a massive crowd for several hours to kick of the event, followed by a blistering performance by Irish rock band U2. Bono and bandmates - who have played stadium shows around the world on multiple tours - are increasingly "excited" about the invitation to perform in front of the anticipated "largest crowd ever to attend a rock concert".
President Trump publicly stated to the fake news media that U2 "are inherently MAGA" and are honored to be his esteemed guests at the celebration, and added that "Bono and the boys are my close personal friends - nobody is better than U2!"
While U2 are currently rehearsing songs for this upcoming massive event and unavailable for comment, a spokesperson for the band state that the band is "excited to play for President Trump and the MAGA NATION" and further "we are excited to play our brand new Sci Fi punk rock odyssey tunes in this historic setting."
The 'American Obituary' hitmakers are no strangers to American politics, having previously played for previous Presidents George HW Bush, George W Bush, Bill Clinton, and Barrack Obama.
As Bono himself often says; "America is an idea the MAGA world owns.."
Special guests are to include King Charles, Crooked Hillary and Bill Clinton, Vladimir Putin, Volodymyr Zelensky, Ed Sheeran, Kid Rock, and Trump's personal caddy Sly "IPA" Danner.
President Trump has also hinted that the ghosts of Epestien and Biden will also be in attendance with a post on TwitterX and Truth Social, while signing off with his traditional tagline "thank you for your attention to this matter"

I saw a clip, looks like they did an acoustic performance of COBL. Pretty boring but Bono sounded good at least.

After the really ugly things said recently about Michelle Obama I thought it was classy of Bono to end the song singing “Michelle, my belle” (I think that’s what he was singing).

Since it's just B&E they'll pull some tired old track out, like Ordinary Love or Stuck in a Moment or something they don't have to try too hard at.
Can we place some prop bets on who will play Trumps opening?
I’m laying down good money on Kid Rock and will have to see what the name of the country artists are.

BONO and TRUMP to Co-headline America's 250th Celebration Concert this month

Economically, that doesn’t make much sense. And we know U2 are fond of a good payday. I think they have 3 more tours and a couple more Vegas residency’s.
New album 2026, tour 2027
Winter - Australia, Japan Spring - Europe Summer/Fall - North & South America
Vegas Residency 2029
Last album 2031, year long tour
Vegas Residency 2033
Farewell tour 2035
They retire in their mid 70’s, if they all make it.
You don’t tour European stadiums in spring. Not yet. Wait for another 5 years of global warming and we’re set.
Not too long before they can tour at McMurdo Station. I'd go to that. Stadium, arena or antarctic sphere?

Come on Sly, the IPAs are impairing your judgement here. There are tons of artists who haven’t put out anything decent in decades who can still pack arenas and stadiums. Nostalgia is a strong drug. Worst case scenario for U2 is an arena tour. It would be packed and in bigger markets multiple dates.
U2 have turned off a lot of people. Maybe to an extent not truly appreciated in a U2 fan forum.
Even Bono understands this.
But In the end, who knows. Maybe you are right, maybe not. We’ll see.

Quote U2 have been busy lately. A new single is due soon, and the album will follow later in the year.
First they were in Mexico City and surrounding areas filming the video for “Street of Dreams”. The video shoot took place over several days, and included filming in the streets of Mexico City, as well as some areas outside of the city down in the Juchitepec region of Mexico before leaving and returning to LA. As part of these shoots, U2 also worked on another song, “Silencio”, filming multiple performances of the song at Salón Los Angeles. It may have been part of the bigger “Street of Dreams” video as the band were seen wearing the same clothes, and the bus from that video was parked outside of Salón Los Angeles and the band were filmed getting onto the bus.
More recently U2 have been working in California and we are told that they’ve filmed additional videos. One of these was done in the Mojave desert, while another was done inside on a sound stage. We’ve been told these are for additional songs for the album. No, sorry, we don’t know the name of these songs. It appears that the band at this point has three or four videos filmed for the new album and will have a number of videos complete and ready to go by the time the album is released.
Quote from: Tumbling Dice on June 01, 2026, 07:20:51 PM They won't do another Vega$-style residency again. That was a one off to make use of the tech.
Don’t under estimate the lure of easy money. No touring costs, no lugging staging and crew around the world. Bono and Edge now have L.A homes. Take the private plane to Vegas, 20 minutes. They could do a few months residency without breaking a sweat.

I would prefer arenas if it means more shows, and more cities. I don't like the Vegas model where the band forces its fans to travel long distance to see them. If they only played Los Angeles, Chicago, New York City, Seattle, Dallas and Atlanta, they would make it difficult for most fans.

I have a hard time believing that they expected some sort of big reaction to EP's which have received no promotion outside of the band's own socials. Unless they're sitting around saying "We tried nothing to reach a new audience, and it didn't work!"

Someone mentionned news were slow on the U2 front. And that’"s true at this time of the year, no doubt.
But reliable U2Songs posted these tidbits yesterday:
This week saw the rumours that U2 would play in 2020 in Europe crop up on some ticket reselling sites. We are told that at this time there are NO plans to continue this tour into 2020, and the current cities are the only ones that will be announced. We are told that there are no plans to take this tour for another spin around Europe, or revisit other locations that the tour already visited in 2017. These shows are being done to visit areas of the world the band could not get to in 2017. We are told that the next stage for the band will see them start to work on a new album.
In interviews in 2018 Adam has suggested they will ’Sstart from scratch⬝ on the next album and Bono has said ’SI’"d like to make a balls to the wall rock album⬝ so it sounds like they will work on something new, and not return to revisit Songs of Ascent. Although less committal as usual, even Larry when asked about the future said, ’SYou never know. I assume there’"ll be another album.⬝
