GENERAL U2 TALK
Next Album News and Discussion
Thought I'd start a thread specifically devoted to what we think we know about the next album, and this thread will be pinned in the "U2 General" section. As we learn more, I will
Rumored new album title: 'How to Get Lost Up Your Own Assholes in 25 Short Years - a Collection of Recollections'.

Narrator: it is the real cover.
I think we need to take a moment and appreciate Adam here.
It’s a classic combo.
Quote from: Very good on June 17, 2026, 01:01:32 AM I’m not sure what’s worse - varioua folk on here taking the time to use an AI created image for a daily dose of U2 bashing or me taking the time to comment on it.
I took a private poll and the consensus is that your taking the time to comment is far worse.
But hold on. New data has just arrived which suggests my decision to respond to you is even worse.
This is deeply troubling.

This can't be real or they Bono would at least be walking on the water
U2 actually like this and are now considering shooting something similar for the cover of the upcoming album.

Haha totally. Like, you're emerging from the sea but your clothes aren't wet. It's almost like calling an album with a horizon line on it "No Line on the Horizon." ;D
From what I’m gathering after a thorough investigation, it’s U2Songs that first posted the image yesterday. But they’ve since removed it. Probably fake.
After the two surprise EP’s, and the musical direction the band seemed to be headed, I’m a bit perplexed by the 180 turn I’m suspecting this album is going to go.
Is still believed that Eno has produced the new record? Or am I making that up? After listening to Street of Dreams, just doesn’t sound like an Eno production at all.
Hopefully Mr. Tedder did not make it into the studio.

That is all kinds of awesome!
Looks like some sort of bad photoshop I would have done in 1997. Adam in the pink suit looking completely dishelved is about as rock n roll as any of them have looked in 30 years…

Of course, over here at talku2 we have never had such issues - these amateurs ……

Thought I'd start a thread specifically devoted to what we think we know about the next album, and this thread will be pinned in the "U2 General" section. As we learn more, I will update the initial post so that this becomes the be-all news source for the new record. When you hear something new, put it in this thread. If your source is good, we'll add it to the header. Exciting times, we haven't seen a new U2 album in 8 years, not since the earliest days of TalkU2. Exciting!
Track Names:
Go: Mentioned by Bono as the possible opening track
Freedom is a Feeling In an interview with Esquire, Bono mentioned this track. U2's official FB page posted the following recently:
Freedom is a feeling, A feeling that I have around you Freedom is a feeling, that I never knew.
Glorify: This song was played over the PA at the end of the sphere shows, but even though it's U2-written, the vocals were not U2.
Smile: "a very cool Beatley thing, a ridiculous pop sort of Rubber Soul isn’t it?" Bono said about this song, and NO it's not the same Smile we heard on the Medium Rare record.
Ideas:
Bono floated playing the entire album live, beginning to end, before releasing the studio edition. New tour is likely to be stripped down. Bono said "you can’t do more mega…you can’t do a more sci-fi extravaganza than Sphere. So we have to figure out a new way "
Irish Folk Sci-Fi sound - this was confirmed by Adam after being teased by Edge. It seems to be a legit idea for a new sound.
