All,
We recently had a situation where a user from another U2 fansite deliberately chose a username at TalkU2 that belonged to a different TalkU2 user on another website, and used it specifically to troll people.
This behavior is extremely childish and required mPare and myself to spend an unnecessary amount of time away from our real jobs to chase this down, determine if the allegation was true, if it was deliberate.
So, from this point forward, there will be a zero tolerance policy for deliberately assuming the username of another TalkU2 user from another U2 fansite. It is a one and done. No warning. Entirely at the admins discretion.
If you register here using the username of another person from another U2 fansite, for the purpose of putting words into their mouths, impersonating them, or simply trolling them, no warning, just a permanent ban.
This specific user registered some time ago but didn't post or troll until recently, so if there are any other users who have created a username here to impersonate a person on another U2 fansite, this is your one and only chance to fess up, and we will change your username for you.
From here out, Zero tolerance. Immediate permanent ban at the sole discretion of the admin team, if we determine that it was purposeful.
The registration page will be updated to reflect this change.
